Though a different style than modern novels, it was still an enjoyable journey into the past with the fiction nicely weaved with the history of the era.

Not really one of his best. Strayed to the South Seas. Fair amount of history to cover. Too much to be good reading. Sometimes a little forced
Great historical fiction on Sir Francis Drake. My kids learned so much reading this book and really enjoyed it, too.
My grandson like this and his brothers read it to him.
A wonderful read for all ages. Full of adventure of a young man who earns the respect of the English crown under the Banner of the great Sir Francis Drake whose adventures and daring are among the most brave.
